The Unanticipated Benefits of Virtual Events | The Speaker Perspective
We are four months into quarantine, and one of the many things that has changed in our new virtual lives is that events can no longer happen in person. Here at cred, we’ve been closely involved as the events industry has figured out the shift to virtual.
When live events do return, we do not see virtual going away. Virtual events are here to stay and the experience will only continue to improve as virtual event technology is enhanced and event planners, speakers, and attendees become more virtually savvy. This post will focus on the benefits we’ve seen from a speaking perspective.

The GOOD Steps: How to Plan for Tomorrow
In a guest post from The GOOD Fest, Laura Kate Whitney discusses how to navigate through this Great Pause and ways to check in with yourself as you look to the next chapter.
I don’t need to exhaust the many ways our professional lives have been turned upside down. We’re all living this nightmare together. What I do want to share is rather personal. I’ve been thinking quite a lot about what it really means to be busy during this Great Pause. I’ve been utilizing this forced quiet to go inward and evaluate my attachment to busyness. As a business owner, I’ve always led with an informed heart, and the lessons I’ve learned in the first half of this year alone are sure to pave the way for my company’s next chapter.
If this is the only list I keep from the year 2020, so be it.
Collision from Home: Bringing Global Tech to Your Living Room
Summer events season is in full swing and while live events are currently on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic, event organizers are still working behind the scenes to bring the conference experience to your computer screen. Web Summit’s Collision Conference successfully pivoted its in-person event to a first-time virtual experience called Collision from Home—all in just three short months!
Virtual SaaS: SaaStock Remote 2020
In mid-March, when it became clear that live events were no longer happening due to the COVID-19 outbreak, event organizers had to think fast. SaaStock buckled up and decided to host their event virtually—a tall order, to switch gears from live to virtual in less than three months, but they did so graciously.
They felt that speaking to the SaaS community and staying connected in an accessible and safe environment was more important than ever, and brought the community together virtually.
