Event spotlight: HumanX 2025

Last week, I went to HumanX in Las Vegas to see our clients on stage at what I knew would be one of the best AI events of the year, and to connect with old clients, partners, and new potential clients. What I didn’t know? How much I would learn. The content blew me away.

Top level learnings & takeaways.

These were the themes I heard over and over again.

  • The pace. It feels like AI has exploded, but it is now accelerating at an exponential rate—we haven’t seen anything yet. Kevin Weil, CPO at OpenAI says their “models are iterating faster, cheaper, and more safely. The advancements are growing at an exponential pace.” Humans can’t keep up, we have to jump into the unknown.

  • It’s all about Agentic AI. Swami Sivasubramanian, VP of Data & Machine Learning at AWS talked about the evolution to Agentic AI, what to think about when implementing agents for your company, and what’s beyond. AI will soon not just answer questions and produce content, but will go out in the world and do things for us.

  • Do we need prompt architects? AI outputs are only as good as the inputs. We should be learning how to write great prompts and testing all of the different models. Another tip from a fantastic panel featuring Kobie Fuller at Upfront Ventures, Omar Johnson from Opus Intelligence, and Monica Landers at Storyfit: make them think! You want the AI to take a bit of time to get back to you. Will a “prompt architect” be a new role within companies?

  • Impact of AI on marketing, comms, and creative. AI is going to change the communications, marketing, and creative industries and the agency model in ways we don’t yet understand. This is something here at cred we are watching closely and trying to stay ahead.

My thoughts on the event.

Overall, super impressed for a first year event. Louise Tanner, Stefan Weitz, Andrew Blum, and the entire HumanX team did an incredible job.

  • Top-notch speakers, attendees, and media. This really was a gathering of the best of the best in AI. I’m sure next year in SF will be bigger and better. Save the date! Their 2026 event will be on April 7-9.

  • Pros and cons to the format. All stages were in one big room around the expo hall. It made it easy to catch a few different sessions at once, which was great, but on the flip side I think that resulted in lower turnout and attendee stickiness in each session.

  • Great interactive elements. The roundtables, workshops, and Q&As were really well attended and valuable. Not to mention great additions like an area to pet dogs and free headshots.

  • Venue, food, and drink were first class. The Fontainebleau Las Vegas is beautiful, the food was delicious—I appreciated all of the veg, vegan, and even halal options—and they were very generous with drinks at the end of every day.

  • Did anyone catch Wyclef? I unfortunately had to leave before, but would love to hear about it in the comments!

Finally, I’d be remiss not to highlight our incredible current and past cred speakers on stage sharing their incredible expertise and insights:

Will we see you at HumanX 2026? Want to get on stage? Shoot us a note!
