Event Spotlight: GenAI Summit 2024

Following the success of their inaugural event in Silicon Valley in September, the GenAI Summit hosted their second conference in San Francisco last week, bringing together thousands of developers, entrepreneurs, investors, and AI enthusiasts to explore the future possibilities of generative AI. Over the course of three days, attendees heard from industry leaders across five stages of content, discovered new tools and technologies on the expo floor, and discussed innovations, industry applications, and policy considerations in generative AI with fellow attendees.

Notable speakers included Dr. Sam Liang, CEO & Founder of Otter.ai, Dr. Michael Stewart, Managing Partner at M12, Dr. Rashmi Misra, Chief AI Officer at Analog Devices, Dr. Tony Wu, Co-Founder of xAI, Deon Nicholas, Co-Founder & CEO of Forethought, Dr. Jia Li, Co-Founder of CAIO and President at LiveX AI, and Jonathan Ross, Founder & CEO of Groq.

Sessions attended by our team included:

  • London Breed, the Mayor of San Francisco, giving her opening remarks to kick off the event

  • Jake Heller, CEO & Co-Founder of Casetext (acquired by Thomson Reuters), discussing the present and future opportunities of AI powered co-workers

  • Fiona Ma, the State Treasurer of California, delivering a keynote on what makes San Francisco and California the capital of AI in the world

  • Tiffany Joy Basse, CEO of Liferise, discussing how to preserve minority culture through the use of generative AI

  • Jingsheng Huang, Ed Roman, Rocky Yu, and Matthew Stepka’s panel discussion on how VCs can spot the next big thing in generative AI

And we’d be remiss not to mention the robot barista serving up freshly brewed coffee all day!
