Each year, the entire cred team gathers for a few days of connection, celebration, and future planning during our annual offsite. This year, we decided to take a trip back to our roots in San Francisco, a city that holds so much of our company’s history and energy. Over three days, we celebrated the achievements of the past year, set intentions for 2025, and focused on building deeper relationships—all while having fun!
The offsite provided an invaluable opportunity for us to come together in person, something we all treasure as a fully remote team with employees across New York, Georgia, Oregon, Utah, Southern California, and other parts of the U.S. In our increasingly virtual world, this experience allowed us to connect face-to-face, align on goals for 2025, and strengthen our bonds as a team.
From bonding exercises to team-building games, we made the most of every moment to connect with credians we don’t always see face-to-face.
Engaged in Friendly Competition
To keep things exciting, each year we choose a theme for our offsite, and this year’s was Survivor: Outwit, Outplay, Outlast. Divided into “tribes,” we engaged in friendly competitions, bringing out everyone’s competitive spirit! From team costumes to a corn hole challenge, and even an immunity idol and final “tribal council,” we had a blast connecting with teammates in a whole new way. It was a fantastic way to encourage healthy competition and build resilience together.
Built Our Future as Individuals and as a Team
One of the highlights was our vision board session, a meaningful exercise designed to help us look ahead and hold ourselves accountable for both personal and team aspirations. Each of us crafted a vision board to represent our goals and dreams, then shared them with our peers. Seeing everyone's unique aspirations was inspiring, and it underscored the value we place on supporting each other’s growth and dreams.
We also took time to discuss work-from-home best practices, sharing ideas to help us stay productive, balanced, and connected. We then moved into breakout groups to explore what we want to start, stop, and continue doing as a company in 2025. These sessions helped us align our personal goals with a collective vision for cred’s success, focusing on the impact we aim to make in the year to come.
Grew Together Through the Art of Improv
Continuous learning is a core value at cred, and we hold quarterly training sessions for individual roles as well as for the whole company. For Q3, we took advantage of being in San Francisco by inviting a local improv coach from BATS Improv, to lead an interactive workshop. This session focused on presentation and public speaking skills—abilities crucial for employees at every level and across all of our teams.
The improv training was fun, engaging, and practical. Through interactive exercises, we learned to think quickly on our feet, hone our storytelling and listening skills, and improve team collaboration. Improv teaches adaptability, confidence, and attentiveness—skills that translate directly to our work at cred.
Gave Back to our Local Community
Each quarter, cred donates to a local organization as part of our credService initiative, which reflects our commitment to giving back and supporting the Pledge 1% movement. During our recent offsite, we assembled Infant Care Nursery Kits for UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals. These kits included items such as tissues, baby books, reusable water bottles, mirrors, baby wraps, journals, and body lotion. They will be distributed to families in need, offering essential items and comfort during their time at the hospital.
Celebrated With an All-Company Dinner at Foreign Cinema
To wrap up our offsite, we closed out the final evening with an all-company dinner at Foreign Cinema, where we could kick back, relax, and enjoy each other’s company. Over delicious food and great conversations, we reflected on our time together and shared laughs, making memories that will carry us forward into 2025.
The offsite was a perfect balance of reflection, planning, and fun. It’s events like these that remind us how powerful it is to come together, share our aspirations, and look forward to the future as a united team. With our vision boards, new skills, and strengthened connections, we’re ready to tackle the challenges and opportunities 2025 will bring.
