National Philanthropy Day: credService 2021 Highlights
Did you know that today is National Philanthropy Day? National Philanthropy Day is celebrated on November 15 to acknowledge and celebrate the contributions of individuals and organizations who give back to their communities.
At cred, we take pride in giving back to our community every year. In 2021, our credService team organized quarterly opportunities for our team to volunteer and/or donate to causes in the San Francisco Bay Area. Let’s take a look back at our efforts from the past year (with many more to come!).
Q1 Service Opportunity: St. Francis Living Room Donations
We kicked off the year by helping to support our friends & neighbors at the St. Francis Living Room! The mission of the St. Francis Living Room is to improve the quality of life for low income and homeless seniors in the Tenderloin. In the pre-COVID times, we enjoyed serving breakfast onsite at St. Francis. We also previously held a successful jam & jacket drive last year.
This year, our team donated toothpaste, body wash, shampoo, masks, snacks, and other essentials to improve quality of life. Our team arrived on site with overflowing bags and we were so happy to continue the tradition of working with the team at St. Francis.
Q2 Service Opportunity: Hamilton Families
For our Q2 activity, we worked with Hamilton Families, whose mission is to end family homelessness in the Bay Area. We collected donations from the team and used that money to help purchase several backpacks full of school supplies for kids who were returning to school in the fall. We loved seeing how happy it made the kids!
Q3 Service Opportunity: SF - Marin Food Bank
For our Q3 activity we gave back to the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank. Their mission is to end hunger in San Francisco and Marin. Through our donations we were able to help the food bank prepare over 500 healthy meals for those facing food insecurity. The food bank has various volunteering activities as well and we are looking forward to working with them again in the future!
Whether it’s in-person or virtually, we are looking forward to continuing to give back to our community in 2022. To find out how you can get involved with these organizations, please visit:
