Namaste at Home: Recapping cred Wellness Week 2020
cred hosted its second annual Wellness Week, packed with both individual and team-wide activities to help promote personal wellness. While last year’s Wellness Week included in-office face masks and dancing, this year’s climate meant virtual classes and connecting digitally. With the major shift in our daily routines the past three months, this week served as a reminder to practice self-care and check-in with ourselves at home.
Our team was encouraged to use various apps throughout the week to promote everyday wellness, coupled with a step challenge for the week in which the team recorded their steps via Strava, Fitbit, the Health app, or any other step tracker to keep us moving.
We kicked off day one with a “build your own smoothie bar,” sharing recipe ideas and tips and tricks with the team. From Barry’s Bootcamp favorites to morning coffee hybrids, the team was encouraged to start their week with a healthy smoothie, proven to improve hydration and digestion.
Our CEO Caitlin also doubles as a fitness extraordinaire, teaching UJam on top of leading cred. She made the perfect instructor for our Tuesday morning HIIT class, complete with burpees, high knees, and mountain climbers.
On Wednesday, we began compiling our first credCookbook! One of the perks of working at a startup is the idea sharing—from travel guides to client strategy, our team consistently pulls together ideas for the best results. That’s why we saw Wellness Week as the perfect opportunity to compile the team’s favorite summer-inspired (perfectly healthy or those treat-yourself staples) recipes to share.
Our resident yogi Taylor also led a midday yoga and meditation class to help us find our inner chi and improve our energy and focus.
We rounded Wellness Week off with a busy Thursday. Lunchtime meant Corepower Yoga Sculpt with @danniecaliyoga, a quarantine lifesaver who has been leading donation-based online yoga classes throughout quarantine.
During our team-wide meeting that afternoon we also celebrated two crediversaries and encouraged all to arrive in their best versions of 80s athleisure.
While much of the week promoted physical wellness, we also wanted to recognize the importance of mental health on overall wellbeing, especially during quarantine. Our team woke up to journal prompts in their inboxes daily, to promote gratitude and encourage us to reflect.
Wellness Week served as a perfect reminder for our team to recharge, reset, and practice wellness in our daily lives.
*cred’s office was closed on Friday in recognition of Juneteenth, a holiday commemorating the emancipation of the last remaining slaves in the United States. Our team was encouraged to attend virtual events put on across the country and learn more about Juneteenth’s history
