Event Spotlight: Seed to Scale at Startup Grind Global 2024

 

More than 5,000 startup teams, executives, and investors from around the world gathered in Redwood City last week for the 11th annual flagship gathering of Startup Grind’s worldwide community, Startup Grind Global. The event features two days of non-stop content and connection designed to help startups building the next big thing grow, evolve, and scale. Attendees benefitted from an array of programming including engaging panels and fireside chats, hands-on workshops, interactive Q&A sessions, networking activations, and more. 

Speakers represented leading founders, investors, and innovators, including Aileen Lee from Cowboy VC, Jack Altman from Lattice and Alt Capital, Garry Tan from Y Combinator, Thomas Laffont from Coatue, Manish Chandra from Poshmark, Wade Foster from Zapier, Pejman Nozad from Pear VC, Sangeeta Chakraborty from Miro, Edith Harbaugh from LaunchDarkly, Daniel Yanisse from Checkr, Rajeev Dham from Sapphire Ventures, James Joaquin from Obvious Ventures, Tamara Steffens from Thomson Reuters Ventures, and many more. 

A few highlights from the two-day event include: 

  • James Joaquin, Co-founder and Managing Director at Obvious Ventures, moderated an AI Investing panel, giving attendees insights into top investors’ contrarian AI investing views.  

  • Daniel Yanisse, Co-founder and CEO of Checkr, spoke with Silicon Valley veteran Rich Wong on the Checkr journey and reducing bias in AI. 

  • Tamara Steffens, Managing Director at Thomson Reuters Ventures, contributed to an engaging panel on how to break into investing. 

  • Rajeev Dham, Partner at Sapphire Ventures, moderated a conversation on navigating revenue and venture funding for startups.

  • Aileen Lee, Co-founder of Cowboy VC spoke with Emily Chang from Bloomberg on the state of the Unicorn.
