LIVERAMP

Driving the Data @ RampUp 2018

March 5th and 6th were filled with excitement as RampUp 2018 took over the Fairmont Hotel and the Masonic in San Francisco. We’ve been working with LiveRamp for months to secure close to 170 speakers for this rapidly growing convention of the brightest minds in Digital Marketing and data. We curated 48 sessions of panels, chats, and presentations all focused on the “future of marketing” for TV, brands, agencies, data owners, and publishers.

The first day kicked off with a great conversation between Wells Fargo CMO Jamie Moldafsky and LiveRamp’s Allison Metcalfe. One underlying theme of their conversation was how customers are at the center of everything.

Tuesday brought almost 2,500 attendees and a powerhouse panel of CMOs to kick things off, including former CMO of Airbnb - Jonathan Mildenhall, Cisco CMO - Karen Walker, TripAdvisor CMO - Barbara Messing, and Adobe CMO - Ann Lewnes. The five had an amazing chemistry onstage as they discussed the digital marketing ecosystem.

Throughout the day, we loved seeing some of our clients show their expertise: Dan Greenberg of Sharethrough, Joanne Chen of Foundation Capital, Matt Keiser of LiveIntent, Thomas Walle of Unacast, Kamakshi Sivaramakrishnan of Drawbridge, Omar Tawakol of Voicera and finally Eva of Voicera (a bot who took notes during Omar’s session).

Nate Silver, American statistician and Author of The Signal and the Noise, closed off the event with an engaging talk about Data and Predictions.

We’ve loved being involved the past three years as RampUp becomes one of the go-to events in the data-driven ecosystem. We're looking forward to great things for RampUp 2019!

RampUp 2017 Recap

That's a wrap! For the past few months, we've been working closely with LiveRamp to put together the agenda and speaker line-up for RampUp 2017. (cred also helped with RampUp 2016!)

In its fifth year, the annual summit has carved a name for itself in the MarTech industry, delivering insightful content around artificial intelligence, data quality, mobile, and more.

One of our favorite sessions was "Hot Zone: The Marketing Industry's Most Difficult Questions Answered," moderated by SafeGraph's Auren Hoffman. To start, Auren offered a $2 bill signed by the panel to whoever asked the most controversial question. Touching on topics like data attribution, democratization and ethics, the panel featured: Kamakshi Sivaramakrishnan, Drawbridge; Aaron Bell, AdRoll; Brian O'Kelley, AppNexus; and, Kishore Kanakamedala, Google.

Another attendee favorite was "Proximity Marketing is Ready." Moderated by LBMA's Asif Khan, the panel featured: Thomas Walle, Unacast; Brian Handly, Reveal Mobile; Walt Doyle, GasBuddy; and John Dokes, AccuWeather Network. A key takeaway? Mobile without location data is just another screen.

This year, the two-day conference took place at The Masonic and The Fairmont, atop Nob Hill in San Francisco. In total, there were more than 2,300 attendees, 130 great speakers, and 55 engaging sessions across the Pre-Conference and Main Day of the event.

We can't wait to see what next year has in store - hope to see you there!

On Tuesday, February 23, 2016, cred PR helped LiveRamp, an Acxiom company, coordinate their 4th annual RampUp—the Premier Conference for data-driven marketers and AdTech industry leaders.

RampUp 2016 took place at The Fairmont, atop Nob Hill in the beautiful city of San Francisco. The day began bright and early with registration, breakfast on the terrace, and an inspiring morning fireside chat with Legendary Entertainment’s Matthew Marolda. The 1,400+ attendees then split into three tracks for a full day of compelling panels and keynotes.

Since 2012, RampUp has gathered the top innovative minds in the digital space to discuss today’s data and marketing opportunities and challenges. This year was the largest event yet, both in terms of content and audience, with 17 panels and topics ranging from “What Senior Leaders Are Looking For in 2016” to “Data As An Asset.”

Some dynamic speakers that added to this year’s agenda included: Dean of Global Innovation from Gap, GM of IBM, Head of Programmatic at LiveNation, Founder & CEO at MediaMath, Vice President of MasterCard, CMO of Citi Bank, and GVP, Marketing from Macy's, to name a few. In total, 15 of our clients participated in the event, both as speakers and participants.

Author of Freakonomics Stephen Dubner connected the day’s themes in his closing keynote, entitled "How To Think Like A Freak in Advertising.” An entertaining take on incentivization and human behavior, Dubner incorporated stories of post-bathroom hand hygiene (or lack thereof) and turkey reproduction (I kid you not) to discuss how “circumstances under which data is created impacts the end value of data” and our tendency to choose data that confirms decisions we’ve already made. Just a little insight for us all to ponder...
