Recapping Q2: Our Stellar Second Quarter Triumphs

April showers bring May flowers events—that’s how the saying goes, right? Regardless, Q2 certainly earned us some miles, traveling to be onsite for events in Napa, London, LA, NYC and San Francisco. During the past three months, we’ve been involved with 33 events around the world—that breaks down to 1 event every 2.7 days! 

This past quarter, our event management team celebrated cred’s 9th birthday as a company individual birthdays across our team, one of our very own getting married, a 1-year AND a 5-year “crediversary,” and a send off for a well-deserved sabbatical (a cred perk for all employees after 5 years)! We love the fact that cred takes time and energy to honor and recognize these milestones. 

What else have we been up to in Q2 2024? 

  • In early April, we were onsite in LA for a deeptech-focused event. The venue was a first for us, hosted in an office space that was about to go up for lease! Alexa, play “Blank Space” by Taylor Swift. Cocktails, music and bites took place on the rooftop after content, set to the backdrop of an LA sunset. 

  • Speaker management, AV & agenda coordination were all components of our scope of work for a mid-April CAB (Customer Advisory Board) event hosted at the Fairmont in San Francisco. Our favorite fun element of this event was the perfectly branded color scheme of snack offerings during the breaks between content—all the same colors as in their logo and brand guide.

  • We took over Napa in late May for one of our largest events of the year: a 300+ person annual meeting & company offsite. We managed registrations and attendee communications, hotel room blocks across three different hotels, transportation for 300+ guests, vendors & venues, and managed the virtual element of the livestream. We were excited to use Clicksend for the first time, a texting service that made it easy to push live notifications and updates to our guests throughout the three-day event. 

  • We continue to manage speakers and moderate the conversation for SaaStr’s live and interactive Workshop Wednesday series. With topics like the state of subscription apps, how to build GTM efficiency, and AI-powered B2B marketing, attendees are sure to take away key learnings for sales, marketing and fundraising in the SaaS space. 

  • Brand Guidelines and the ABCs of Venture Capital Terms have been topics among our team’s monthly training in Q2!

Want to know what we took notice of while being boots on the ground the past few months? 

  • Take the opportunity to involve your event attendees from the first touch point at registration. Include questions about what they want to see & hear on stage, what music they want playing during breaks, preference on vegan or vegetarian meals, etc. Getting their input as early as possible will help tailor the event to the guests who show up on the day of and make them feel like they have a role in sculpting the event they’re attending!

  • Sustainability remains at the forefront of attendees’ minds. We know it’s difficult to accomplish your green goals when you want to stun attendees with signage, swag, and F&B. Our team authored a blog post on the Top Sustainability Events in 2024 & 2025 who are acing this feat. Tune in for some inspiration!

  • Feeling stuck promoting your event on LinkedIn and email? Don’t forget to use social to your advantage when creating buzz to generate registrations. Hiring a professional photographer and/or videographer to capture exciting content could really pay off—post photos on Instagram and Twitter throughout your event and keep footage to use for promoting future events. If your budget is particularly tight, ask your team if anyone is open to being the event photographer. You would be surprised how many people have a photography side hustle and would appreciate the experience!

  • Act quickly once your event wraps. Gather post-event feedback and share deliverables like session slides and recordings. If your event is in-person, have iPads ready to go with surveys outside of content spaces and the exit. We’ve all seen those kiosks in the airport where you can choose a happy, neutral or mad smiley face–it can really be as simple as that! You might also experiment with QR codes for a short survey. Attendees are far less likely to complete a 10-minute survey than something they can do in one click on their way out. If your event is virtual, insert a feedback vote once each session wraps.

This quarter, we worked with 118 speakers from companies like TikTok, Google Cloud, OpenAI, and Slack. We continue to prioritize exposure for women and underrepresented speakers on stage. 32% of these speakers are from underrepresented groups and 22% are women. We will continue to push our clients towards achieving at least 50% for both categories throughout the year.

Heading into Q3, we’re looking forward to hosting an event in the Hamptons, being back at SaaStr Annual for our 5th year, taking over NYC for a forum for the Future of TV Advertising, and being part of the US Open in early September. We know what lies ahead and we’ve never been more ready for the challenge!
