credService Q1 Recap: Women’s Daytime Drop-in Center
cred prioritizes making a positive impact within society, whether that be through conferences and events, speaking engagements, or giving back. Each quarter our credService team coordinates a unique service initiative for our team to come together and support a meaningful cause.
In honor of March being Women’s History Month, credService committed to supporting a women-focused organization for our first effort of the year. We spent the month collecting donations for the Women’s Daytime Drop-in Center which provides services to Berkeley, Albany, and Emeryville families.
For more than 30 years, the center has provided service through housing, parenting support, domestic violence support, and various other resources to an average of 150 unhoused women and children each month. These services are especially relevant in our community as Northern Alameda County is home to the country’s highest concentration of chronically homeless individuals, with almost all also battling addictions, physical impairments, domestic violence, or severe and persistent mental illnesses.
By the end of March, our team had raised a total of $545! These funds were then used to purchase top-ranked items according to the center’s Amazon Wish List, including baby wipes, snack variety packs, deodorant, essential hygiene items, and more.
If you would like to donate to the Women’s Daytime Drop-in Center, please visit their website or Amazon Wish List, and if you’re local to the Bay Area, consider volunteering your time! Volunteers help cook hot meals for the residents, keep the center tidy, and assist with fundraising and donation collections.
As a company, we also recently joined Pledge 1%, an initiative helping businesses make philanthropy a priority and helping us continue to make an even greater impact in our communities.
