credTen: Top 10 Event Scholarships Advancing Diversity & Equity 2022
Historically, marginalized communities face challenges related to accessibility, inclusion, and finances when seeking opportunities to advance their knowledge and share their perspective to the world. In order to advance thought leadership as a whole, we must welcome and advocate for a multitude of ideas and innovations.
In our latest credTen, we highlight ten event scholarships that are working diligently to expand accessibility, elevate diversity of thought, and create opportunities for underrepresented groups to add their voices to the collective learning community.
ScalaCon
October 4-7 | Virtual
ScalaCon is a collaborative project brought to you by the folks behind Scala eXchange and Scala Days. To increase diversity at ScalaCon, scholarships are offered to people from underrepresented groups in tech and those from low-income backgrounds and/or countries. ScalaCon Diversity tickets include free admission to the conference.

Great Minds in Stem (GMiS)
October 5-8 | Pasadena, CA
GMiS has been a conference dedicated to expanding the knowledge-base and access to career growth opportunities to ALL STEM students within the United States and its territories. In partnership with Google, GMiS offers scholarships to qualifying individuals that covers the full cost of registration.

American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES) Conference
October 6-8 | Palm Springs, CA
The Annual AISES National Conference is a three-day event focusing on educational, professional, and workforce development for Indigenous peoples of North America and the Pacific Islands in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) studies and careers. In partnership with Google, AISES offers scholarships to qualifying individuals that covers the full cost of registration.

Lesbians Who Tech San Francisco Summit

Blacks in Technology Conference (BITCON)

BITCON is the annual conference for the Blacks In Technology community hosted by Blacks In Technology, LLC (BIT) and the 501(c)(3) Blacks In Technology Foundation. The conference will be a hybrid of in-person and live streamed main stage, attended by IT professionals, university students, and a variety of afro-technologists and futurists.In partnership with Google, BITCON offers scholarships to qualifying individuals that covers the full cost of registration.

Society for the Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS) Conference

The largest multidisciplinary and multicultural STEM diversity event in the country, the SACNAS conference is a gathering which serves to equip, empower, and energize participants for their academic and professional paths in STEM. In partnership with Google, SACNAS offers scholarships to qualifying individuals that covers the full cost of registration.

Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) Conference

The SHPE National Convention is the largest gathering of Hispanics in STEM. AFROTECH™ Conference is the largest Black tech conference of the year! ADCOLOR
November 17-20 | Los Angeles, CA
The ADCOLOR Conference is the premier diversity gathering for professionals at all levels within the advertising, marketing, PR, media and entertainment industries. In partnership with Google, ADCOLOR offers scholarships to qualifying individuals that covers the full cost of registration.
ADCOLOR also offers ADCOLOR Futures program which offers sponsorship to attend the ADCOLOR Conference & Awards, career training through ADCOLOR University, short and long term mentorship, as well as activities designed to inspire creativity and build camaraderie.
