Getting to Know You: Meet cred’s Spring Interns

The cred team is excited to welcome three interns for the spring semester!

Our intern program offers students chance to take a deep dive into the world of events—from pitching clients for conferences and speaking opportunities to hands-on event planning.

Get to know our spring interns, Leen Azmeh, Phuong Le, Bharvi Yadav, and Caraline Pham (a returning intern) below.

cred: Where are you going to school and what are you studying? Why did you choose to study that subject?

Leen Azmeh: I am a senior at the University of San Francisco and am studying advertising. I mainly chose to be an advertising major because I wanted to be a part of making the ads we see more inclusive and reflective of what our society looks like, but also, it's just really fun.

Phuong Le: I’m a senior at UC Berkeley majoring in American Studies with a concentration on Music Cognition. My major gives me a lot of fluidity with my studies; it’s taught me how to integrate so many subjects & ideas for me to explore a lot of trends that take place in our globalizing world today. If I don’t get to learn one thing today, I get to learn another thing. The learning never stops! (And that’s how you know I’m a geek at heart.)

Bharvi Yadav:  I am a student at California State University, Fullerton pursuing a B.A. in Public Relations. I love networking, speaking, and writing, so I knew from the start that Communications was the ideal career aspiration. I chose Public Relations because it would teach me how to navigate and understand a primary function of our society—media and branding.

cred: Can you tell us a bit about yourself?

Leen: I’m 21, from sunny SoCal, and turkey sandwiches are my favorite food group. If I’m not writing, you can catch me at a concert or finding new music.

Phuong: I grew up moving around a lot. And I’m proud to say that’s shaped me into the strong, independent woman that I am today. I’m a true workaholic (yikes), but I’m also one that enjoys compiling music playlists, traveling, journaling, and dancing during my spare time.

Bharvi:  I was born in India and raised in the Bay, both so full of culture and diversity that I learned to value people with unique lifestyles. In my free time, I’m usually taking or editing pictures and designing. I love exploring new places outdoors, anywhere with a height.

cred: What do you want to achieve while interning at cred?

Leen: As an aspiring copywriter, I hope to strengthen my writing skills as well as become more familiar with client relations.

Phuong:  I’m used to executing events on-site. And now-- I’m excited to expand my skill sets with the back-end of things, and dive deeper into understanding what it’s like to get into planning an event.

Bharvi:  I hope to learn how to properly research clients and their expectations, as well as how to plan and secure events and opportunities. I am excited to bring forward my education in PR and pair it with practical experience working with a diverse, professional team!

cred: If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life what would it be?

Leen: Turkey sandwich on dutch crunch.

Phuong: I'd eat homemade chicken noodle soup because you can feel light and full all at the same time. And it gives you the warm fuzzies (especially during the winter season).

Bharvi: I have a major sweet tooth so I will eat anything with sugar as long as it’s vegetarian/vegan!

cred: Can you give us one interesting fact about yourself?

Leen: One of my favorite things to do is play cards with my grandma (my bff). She wins most of the time.

Phuong: I love going to concerts & festivals. I’ve worked for a harm-reduction initiative as a lead for one of the largest electronic festivals in the world (EDC Las Vegas), and am learning a bunch of flow arts (like hooping!) during my breaks.

Bharvi: I never fully completed a 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade at 1 location. In between all 3 years, my family and I moved to the UK, India, and back to the states. All 3 countries have different education standards so I jumped around years in elementary school.

cred: What is one thing you want to accomplish in the next five years?

Leen: I hope to be a copywriter at an advertising agency in the city, and own a wrinkly and smushy bulldog named George.

Phuong: I’d love to be able to get situated in an events career while getting into artist management for fun! And while I’m at it: be the mother of an Australian shepherd and a tabby (I love cats & dogs alike. Can’t seem to choose one over the other.)

Bharvi: I would love to be an established PR Professional at any event-management related organization/firm, and hope to have an MBA or in the process.
